Culinary herbs are planted in various locations in the home garden, many near vegetable beds, but some are also in borders and rock gardens.    Most are grown for use in the kitchen, but some are supported for their decorative value.    The word “herb” is used by botanists to refer to any plant with soft, succulent tissues, but gardeners and cooks use the word “herb” to refer to plants used to flavor food.    In traditional times, herbs may have been used as medicinal plants. Many herbs are perennials and a few are annuals.    The herbs shared here are culinary herbs and some vegetables, mostly in flower from the home garden.

Included in this album are sage, oregano, lettuce, basil, thyme, endive, radish, feverfew, chamomile, arugula, cilantro/coriander, and chives.
