Feverfew (Tanacetum parthenium) is an aromatic perennial in the daisy family.    It has long been used as a herbal remedy in traditional medicine.     It grows into a small bush and in its blooming stage has many small white flowers with yellow centers.    We put in the garden once and we have had many volunteers each year.    It smells nice and looks good when flowering, but the faded flowers are unattractive and if allowed to set seed, it will disperse seed in your garden, becoming a feral/invasive weed.    We usually allow a couple to grow by walkways, but we deadhead and discard the seedheads in a timely fashion.

Nevertheless we find new plants growing under branches, in open spaces, and even in the vegetable garden.     It is similar to chamomile in that way, attractive, but invasive if you don’t keep after it.
